How we look after your safety

At PSS, your safety is the most important thing to us. We want you to feel safe when you use our services.

We will do everything we can to keep you safe and protected from any kind of abuse when you’re using our services.

What is abuse?

Abuse is when someone hurts you, upsets you or makes you feel frightened.

What PSS does to stop abuse

We’ve got a safeguarding policy that has been written in line with the law. Everyone at PSS must follow this policy.

Our policy tells us the things we should do when an adult or a child tells us they are suffering from abuse, or what to do when we think abuse might be happening.

If you are using a service in your community, the manager of that service will also follow the local council’s safeguarding policy, too.

The first thing we will always do is make sure we understand what you need.

If you would like to see our safeguarding policy, email tellus@pss.org.uk or call 0151 702 5555 and speak to our customer service team.

We're looking out for you

Every member of our team is trained in what to do is someone tells them they don’t feel safe. We are also trained in how to spot if someone might be being abused. We’re all looking out for you. Our aim is always try to step in and put a stop to any potential safeguarding issues before they happen.

What do I do if I don’t feel safe?

If you or someone around you doesn’t feel safe while using PSS services, or if you feel like you may have suffered any kind of abuse or oppression while using any of our services, it’s really important to let us know right away, so we can help.

We’ll take you seriously, and we’ll always treat you with respect and dignity, no-matter what.
