With us, you can
Our world revolves around you. How you’re supported is your choice, and we promise to always respect that. We’ll never judge you, we’ll always listen and we’ll give you as much or as little support as you want or need from us.
We want you to be as independent as possible, so we’ll do everything we can to help you see your own potential, get out there and live your life your way, no-matter what it throws at you.
Support we'd want for our families
The quality of what we do is so, so important to us – in fact, we’ve got a team of people dedicated to it.
Our quality team takes care of making sure what we do is brilliant, and that we're always getting better.
When you ask our teams why they want to give such a wonderful service, you’ll quite often hear them say ‘I’d want this kind of service’, or ‘This is the service I’d want for my mum.’ And that’s the way we look at things.
For us, quality is about giving people support that touches their lives and gives them that bit of a helping hand when they need it most, without taking away their independence.
Keeping an eye on things
Throughout the year, we make sure we keep a close eye on how we're doing.
We work closely with the people we support and their families, our Shared Lives carers, our volunteers and our partners to check that we're doing the kind of work we can be proud of.
We even have a team of quality checkers who work alongside us to do regular interviews and inspections on the support we're giving to people, to check we're doing a good job.
Our regulatory bodies
Our Shared Lives services in Lincolnshire, Merseyside, Manchester, North Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England, and our Shared Lives North Wales service is regulated by Care Institute Wales (CIW).
Our CQC and CIW ratings are displayed on each of our Shared Lives pages on our website, or you can head to the CQC or CIW websites and search for PSS.
What you think
Every year we ask the people we support to tell us what they think of the support they get from PSS. Here's what they said in 2025:
4.7/5
as a social care provider
4.7/5
for blablablab
4.5/5
for the blablbalbaba
Tell us your views
If you've got something to tell us, we want to hear it. We're listening, and we care about what you think.
Tell us what you thinkI don’t sit in all the time anymore. I go to swimming, art classes, coffee mornings. I’ve got two voluntary jobs now, too. My Shared Lives carer, Sean, has taken me to the Etihad stadium tour, and I’ve met Sean’s friend who takes me to the game every now and then too. I’ve even been to a Man City game on my own!
