The atmosphere
A big part of why so many people love working at PSS is undoubtedly our lovely culture and our positive atmosphere.

Staff recognition
Every year we have The Brilliant Awards, otherwise known as The Brillies, where we say a big thank you and well done to the teammates that have really shone.
Our teammates can nominate someone they work with in one of seven award categories:
- The Brilliant Leader Award: for someone in the organisation who has shown fantastic leadership skills
- The Working Together Award: for someone who has worked closely with the people we support to make something happen
- The Belonging Award: for someone who has gone out of their way to make PSS a more inclusive place to be
- Support Worker of The Year: for a fabulous support worker who has gone above and beyond
- Central Services Star of The Year: to recognise the hard work of our ace finance, governance, learning and development, communications, HR, learning and development and quality teammates
- Families and Communities Star of The Year: for someone special who works in our Making Days, Community Support, Wellbeing Centres, Women's Turnaround, Prisoners' Families or PSS Parent-Baby Service teams
- Shared Lives Star of The Year: for someone who's gone the extra mile in one of our seven Shared Lives teams across England and Wales
We do an online ceremony that everyone can join in, and the winners get some vouchers to spend on whatever makes them happy. Lovely stuff!
PSS has the best culture of anywhere I've ever worked. Everyone is so warm, friendly and genuinely cares about what they do. The senior leaders are all so approachable and just one of us - I've never experienced that anywhere else.
