Support to get out and about in your Liverpool community

With our Liverpool Community Support service, we’ll support you to get out and about in your Knowsley community, feel more confident on your own, learn life skills and make new friends.

We'll help you be as independent as you can be

Whether it's meeting up with friends, heading to the gym or going out shopping, if you'd like some support to do the things you enjoy and be part of your community, we can help.  We'll support you to be as independent as you can be, and can help you with the practical stuff, too, like going to hospital appointments, or budgeting.

With our Liverpool Community Support service, you’ll have a support worker who’ll go out and about around Merseyside with you, keep you company, help you learn new skills and support you to do the things you really want to do.

How PSS Community Support can help you:

  • Become more confident
  • Go to clubs
  • Get learning and education opportunities
  • Find job opportunities
  • Budget and manage your money
  • Meet up with friends and family

  • Get confidence to travel on your own
  • Go to your appointments
  • Try new hobbies
  • Learn life skills
  • Make friends
  • Live life your way
Cheri helps me go to the shops, go to see my nieces and go to Zumba classes. Cheri gets involved and dances with me. I like that I'm not on my own and I can rely on her to make sure I'm ok when I'm out. She's there if I need her.

Who can we support?

Liverpool Community Support is for people who have a learning disability. We can also support you if you have a learning disability and:

  • a physical disability;
  • an acquired brain injury;
  • sensory impairment; and/or
  • a mental health condition.

How will we support you?

When you get support from Liverpool Community Support at PSS, we'll work together to create your support plan. Your support plan will say what your needs are and how you would like us to support you. It'll also say the things you enjoy and what your hopes and dreams are.

Once we've got a good idea of how we can help, we'll get out and about in your community and do the things you'd like to do.
