Your PSS Making Days buddy

On your first day at PSS Making Days, you'll meet your buddy. Your buddy is another person who comes to Making Days. They will help show you around, help you meet new people and spend your first few days with you while you settle in.

Who will support me?

We have a brilliant team of support workers and team leaders here at PSS Making Days.  They will be here to make sure you're included, supported, happy, safe and well.

Our team has special skills and training to make sure you're kept safe and well while you're with us, including using hoists, PEG feeding systems, MIC-KEY buttons and supporting people who are non-verbal and who have trouble swallowing (dysphagia).

We will always listen to what you want and try our best to make it happen with you.

Who can get support from PSS Making Days?

At PSS Making Days, we can support you if you have a learning disability.

If you have a learning disability along with other support needs, like physical disabilities, brain injuries, sensory impairments or autism, we can support you with those things, too.

I love coming to Making Days. I have made new friends and been in a drama show!

Questions people ask us all the time

    • If you'd like to bring your own device to use while you're with us, that's totally fine. But, just so you know, you'll need to take care of it and keep it safe.

    • Yes, we can give you personal care to keep you comfy and well. We'll need you to bring your own pads and changes of clothes.

    • Unfortunately we can't lift you, but we can use a hoist. We just need you to make sure your sling is attached to your wheelchair when you arrive at our centre.

    • No, we don't provide lunch. You'll need to bring your own lunch with you.

    • No, unfortunately we don't provide transport to get you to and from Making Days right now.

    • If you need us to tweak how we support you, all you need to do is have a chat to one of our support workers or team leaders, who will make sure your support plan is updated.

    • We're more than happy to work with your social work team and any other professionals you need us to.

    • There's a defibrillator at each of our centres.

    • If you are referred to us by Liverpool City Council, they will pay the cost to come to Making Days. There might be a little charge if we go somewhere where you have to pay to get in, or if you need spending money.

If you are someone who wants to come to Making Days but you haven't been referred by Liverpool City Council, you will need to pay to come along.
