If you're a new parent in Liverpool, we're here to support you
The PSS Parent-Baby Service is here to support you, your family and your baby to build healthy relationships, feel well and build your confidence as a new parent.
Being a new parent isn't easy
We know that being a new parent can get tough sometimes. It can be lonely, and sometimes overwhelming. Maybe it's just not feeling how you thought it would. Maybe you were expecting to feel like you'd just walked straight out of a Disney movie, but instead, you're faced with feeling unhappy, or not feeling connected to your baby. Or maybe you or your partner had a traumatic birth, and you'd like some support coming to terms with it.
If you'd like some support with how you're feeling, don't worry, we can help.
The PSS Parent-Baby Service can help you to:
- Become more in tune with your baby
- Help with any little worries you might have
- Look after yours and your family's wellbeing
- Feel more confident as a parent
- Overcome birth trauma
- Support one another and/or your wider family when it comes to raising your baby
- Draw on the village of support around you and your little one
- Learn techniques to soothe your baby and yourself
When we first met I was in a very dark place and unable to be the mum I wanted to be to my girls, I couldn't see a happy future, if one at all, and I had no emotional connection with my new baby girl. With your support, advice and guidance that has all changed. I have got the fire back in my belly to be the most amazing mum to both my girls, look after me and make the best life for us I can. You have put me on the right path to write our new chapter in life and oh what a chapter it is going to be, I can tell you.

Who can the PSS Parent-Baby Service support?
We can support new parents in Liverpool who have babies under the age of two, or who are pregnant. We can support you and your family right from the time you fall pregnant.
How will we support you?
We've got an expert team of parent-baby specialist therapists (including some midwives!) and clinical psychologists. Our friendly bunch will support you exactly how you want them to, with no judgement and loads of empathy.
When we first meet you, we'll work with you to put together a support plan, which will tell us what type of support you want and need from PSS.
Once we know that, we'll do some one-to-one support sessions at your home or in a local venue, or we'll invite you to come and join one of our brilliant groups with other new parents who are in the same boat.
What do people think about our PSS Parent-Baby Service?

Stories from people we've supported
Anji's 'Mama Bear energy'
Anji's journey with our Parent-Baby team took her from feeling low, anxious and overwhelmed after the birth of her baby to confident, and fulfulled.
Fatima's way out of anxiety
Fatima was a low, anxious and isolated new mum. We supported her to find where her anxieties came from, and be kinder to herself.
